Leading construction and fit-out company Gilbert-Ash has appointed Radius to power up its telecoms network and systems as part of a new investment to enhance its operations and drive new growth across the UK.

The award-winning company, which has offices in Belfast and London, credits its success in a challenging, competitive marketplace to the effort it makes building strong and lasting relationships with clients and staff where regular communications and engagement are critical to project success.

Recently chosen as the main contractor for a £38m redevelopment of Theatr Clwyd in North Wales, Gilbert-Ash has completed work on a string of landmark projects across the UK, including the new £29m University of Brighton Business School, a £16m Moxy Manchester City by Marriott hotel and the £21m Levine Building at Trinity College Oxford, and Canalside, a £31m mixed-used residential scheme in Surrey.

Sustainably-focused Gilbert-Ash was also responsible for the construction of the iconic Merchant Square building for PwC, a £15m project in the heart of Belfast.

Appointing Radius’ telecoms arm, Radius Connect, to deliver a fully integrated mobile communications system to support over 200 mobile staff across the UK to keep project teams securely connected at all times, Gilbert-Ash Managing Director, Ray Hutchinson, said: “Effective communications and the support of an experienced, reliable telecoms partner is crucial to our success and ensuring our teams have access to the best technology, advice and expertise is pivotal to every project.

“I’m delighted to appoint Radius Connect as our preferred supplier for all our telecoms needs and look forward to advancing our successful 15-year partnership long into the future.”

Leading the transformation project, Radius Connect telecoms specialist James Smith said: “We realise the importance of agility and innovation for Gilbert Ash, so we designed a solution that supports their long-term ambitions, with the features and functionality to give the team true flexibility.”

Based in Belfast, Radius Connect provides mobile, fixed line and cloud services based on solutions from providers including, Microsoft and Gamma plus operators Vodafone, O2, and EE. Part of Radius Group, Radius also delivers a range of business solutions including fuel cards and telematics for businesses who rely on a mobile workforce.

Stephen McQuoid, Ireland Director, Radius, said: “Trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to sustainable growth and excellence are vitally important in achieving success and we are really pleased to be continuing our longstanding partnership and to supporting the exacting telecoms requirements which the Gilbert-Ash management and project teams need to deliver their best work.

“In a competitive, often challenging environment, communication is key, which is why we invest in the best tech and teams to deliver a market leading solution to every client and we are thrilled that this has been recognised again by our colleagues at Gilbert-Ash.”
